Sarah Courtney,Minister for Education

The tender for contractors to redevelop the Year 11 and 12 facilities at Bothwell High School has been released as part of the Tasmanian Liberal Government's plan to improve education outcomes.

The redevelopment of Bothwell District School will include the construction of a general learning area, break out spaces, staff office, amenities and a shed alongside a modernisation Years 11 and 12 site.

Tim Penny Architecture + Interiors was commissioned to oversee the project and have been working in conjunction with the Project Working Group (PWG) comprising representatives of the School, School Association and staff from the Department of Education.

The master plan for the works considers and makes provision for the Government's 2021 election commitment of $2 million to upgrade and consolidate agricultural facilities at Bothwell District School.

Once this tender for the Years 11 and 12 redevelopment is awarded, construction is expected to commence in late 2021 and be completed in the first half of 2022.

This redevelopment at Bothwell District School is part of the Tasmanian Liberal Government's record investment in new education infrastructure and demonstrates our strong track record of delivering on our election commitments.
