Tenders invited for Rockville Park design and construction

Tenders have been invited for the construction of a new clubhouse at Rockville Park in Tor Street, Wilsonton Heights.

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) Environment and Community Portfolio Leader, Cr Tim McMahon said the new clubhouse will give sporting groups, schools, residents and other users equal access to facilities regardless of ability or gender.

"The project is required to replace the ageing clubhouse amenities constructed in 1979 which is nearing the end of its life," Cr McMahon said.

"The upgrade will deliver additional people with disabilities (PWD) compliant toilets, ambulant compliant toilets, unisex toilets, unisex showers, player and umpire change rooms, a first aid room, a meeting room, a kitchen and servery and seating areas.

"This is a significant project for Toowoomba and Council encourages construction businesses based in the Toowoomba Region to submit a tender application."

Tenders close at 2.00pm on Tuesday 12th October 2021. Tenders can be lodged electronically via the LG Tender Box or in hard copy via the Tender Box, Toowoomba Regional Council, 4 Little Street, Toowoomba, QLD, 4350.

Tender responses will be evaluated in October 2021, and the successful tender is expected to be awarded in early November 2021.

Construction is expected to start in mid-November 2021 and the new clubhouse is expected to open in late April 2022, weather permitting.
