Tenders open for new CBD light shows

The City of Perth has opened the tender process for a series of light shows to be held over Elizabeth Quay from October.

The Perth City Council has given approval for monthly light shows to be held from October until February 2023, in the wake of the success of the CBD's first drone show this year.

The show commemorated the 60th anniversary of astronaut John Glenn's first Earth orbit and coincided with the City's rebrand as The City of Light.

The City is calling for industry experts to provide ideas for light shows including mediums such as drones, fireworks, lasers and projections.

Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said it was a great opportunity for service providers to showcase the best they had to offer.

"The City welcomes all tenders and encourages creativity," Lord Mayor Zempilas said.

Tender documents are available from the City's e-tendering portal, where all applications must be submitted.

The tender process closes at 2pm on Thursday 5 May and late applications will not be considered.
