Theft of mail in Collingwood

Police are investigating following two separate incidents where mail was stolen from mail boxes outside an apartment complex in Collingwood last month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed that mail was stolen from locked and unlocked mail boxes located at the Mater Street complex on 4 May and again on 17 May.

Police believe that a man and a woman are working together and have visited the location at different times to steal mail.

A woman aged in her 20-30s, is believed to have physically forced the mail boxes open and removed the mail about 3.45pm on 4 May.

The woman, perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with a medium build, was wearing a black hoodie jumper, white jeans and white runners.

She was carrying a black back pack and a red handbag at the time.

A man also aged in his 20-30s, has stolen mail from the same location about 12.25am on 17 May.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with a medium build, was wearing a hoodie jumper with ‘Everlast’ written on the front and a white stripe down the sleeves, denim jeans and white runners.

Melbourne North Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released images and CCTV footage of a man and a woman who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
