Theft of rare Chinese coins from Rowville burglary

Police are investigating a burglary at a house in Rowville last month, Victoria Police say.

It is believed unknown offenders gained access via a rear door of the Airedale Way home between 9am on 21 April and 9.30pm on 23 April.

Once inside the offenders have ransacked all of the bedrooms and the study stealing a quantity of cash and ancient Chinese coins.

Police have been told the coins are from various regions of China during the ‘Qing Dynasty’.

Investigators have released images of some stolen coins in the hope someone may recognise them or come forward with their current whereabouts.
