Thief steals credit cards from cars in Melbourne's North-East

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a thief who stole a number of credit cards from vehicles in Melbourne's north-east over the past month.

Police have been told a man has been linked to approximately seven incidents where credit cards were stolen from vehicles in Mill Park, Epping and Thomastown between 01 September and 25 October.

It is believed the offender used the stolen cards to purchase almost $2000 worth of cigarettes from service stations in Mill Park, Epping and Thomastown…. and flees the scene in a taxi.

Investigators have released an image of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is believed to be aged mid 50s wearing a black Northface jacket with a red zipper, black beanie and a blue facemask.
