Sewage surveillance program

NSW Health's ongoing sewage surveillance program has detected fragments of the COVID-19 virus in samples taken from the Yass Sewage Treatment Plant on:

  • Tuesday, 7 September
  • Thursday, 9 September

The catchment area includes the township of Yass and Yass Service Centre.

Anyone in the Yass community with even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms is urged to come forward for testing following the detection of fragments of the virus in the local sewage system.

The drive-through COVID-19 testing clinic is open at Walker Park, Yass on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am-12pm.

The last sample was taken on Sunday, 12 September. The results will be published mid-week.

We have not been notified of any changes to the current restrictions or of any positive cases in the Yass Valley.
