Thomastown streetscape works begin

We're starting work this month on upgrades to the streetscape along the High Street, Thomastown retail precinct.

We'll be replacing footpaths and raised pedestrian crossings a number of intersections to improve safety for pedestrians.

We'll also install new trees, seating and bins and build a new public space at the High Street entrance of Thomastown Primary School.

The $3.2 million Thomastown Urban Streetscape Improvement project will be delivered in partnership with the Victorian State Government.

The Victorian State Government has contributed $1.450 million, from their Growing Suburbs Fund. Council are providing $1.750 million to the project.

The Growing Suburbs Fund is a wonderful program which allows for fast growing municipalities, such as ours to deliver essential infrastructure to our community.
