The Government of Canada awards almost $593,000 to Hôtel Le Francis, Cim Aventures, the Bonaventure Château Blanc, the Banc-de-Paspébiac historic site, the Committee for Anglophone Social Action, and the Gaspesian Bluegrass Music Association

March 13, 2019 – Paspébiac, Quebec – Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Hôtel Le Francis, Cime Aventures, the Bonaventure Château Blanc, the Banc-de-Paspébiac historic site, the Committee for Anglophone Social Action and the Gaspesian Bluegrass Music Association will be able to go ahead with their projects with the help of a total of $592,216 in payable and non-repayable contributions from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.

Specifically, the funding will allow Hôtel Le Francis and the Bonaventure Château Blanc to upgrade their services with a view to ensuring their growth and enhancing their competitiveness; for its part, Cime Aventures will be able to acquire new infrastructure to foster the expansion of the business. The financial assistance will also benefit three organizations in the Bonaventure RCM, namely the Banc‑de‑Paspébiac historic site, which plans to renew its permanent exhibit in order to attract a broader audience; the Committee for Anglophone Social Action, which will be able to enhance its services with a view to fostering the economic development of English-speaking communities in the Gaspésie region; and the Gaspesian Bluegrass Music Association, which will be able to implement a marketing strategy for the development of new markets outside Quebec.

The funding was announced today by the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Member of Parliament for Gaspésie–Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Minister of National Revenue. The financial assistance granted by the Government of Canada through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program will allow the recipient businesses and organizations to achieve their established objectives. Their respective projects will generate total spending of over $1.8 million and will result in the creation of five jobs in the RCM.
