Three charged after pursuits in Moree

Police have charged three people after several pursuits in the Moree area yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 12.55pm on Tuesday 31 January 2016, police were patrolling on the Newell Highway near Coonabarabran.

The officers observed a gold Toyota Camry, with stolen Victorian number plates, travelling north in excess of the speed limit.

A pursuit commenced when the vehicle failed to stop for the officers however it was terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

About 1.45pm police again attempted to intercept and stop the Toyota as it neared Narrabri but the pursuit was again terminated due to safety concerns.

About 2.20pm the vehicle and its occupants were allegedly involved in a fail to pay for petrol incident at Bellata.

As the vehicle neared Moree police attempted to utilise a tyre deflation device unsuccessfully and then terminated the third pursuit due to safety concerns.

About 1am today two men and a woman were arrested in Moree and taken to the local police station.

The Toyota Camry was located by police and seized for further forensic examination.

A 22-year-old woman and men aged 23 and 29 were all charged with police pursuit x 3(Skyes Law), obtain benefit by deception and possess goods stolen outside the state.

They were all refused bail and will appear at Moree Local Court on Thursday 2 February 2017.
