A $5.35 million State Government investment announced last week will help Melton City Council deliver three vital infrastructure projects to its fast-growing community.

Last Wednesday, the State Government revealed that the development of the Eynesbury Early Learning Centre, extension of the Brookside Community Pavilion, and an upgrade of the Melton Recycling Facility, were among the successful projects in the 2019/2020 round of its Growing Suburbs Fund.

City of Melton Mayor Cr Lara Carli welcomed the funding and thanked the State Government for recognising the City's critical need for investment.

"These projects will have immense health, environmental and social benefits for our residents, and I'm excited to see them become a reality," Cr Carli said.

"We have a great record of positive partnerships with the State Government and I'm looking forward to continuing to work to deliver quality infrastructure that keeps pace with our City's rapid population growth.

"I'd like to thank the State Government for their ongoing support through the Growing Suburbs Fund."

As part of the funding agreement, Council will also make a substantial contribution to each project.

Council has been successful in every round of the Growing Suburbs Fund since it began in 2015. The fund is designed to quickly respond to the pressures experienced by fast-growing outer suburban areas like the City of Melton.

The Eynesbury Station Early Learning Centre will feature two large rooms for kindergarten and community meetings, an external play space, maternal and child health offices, a shared office space, car parking and landscaping.
