Three weeks on and Hidding payout yet to be revealed

Tasmanian Labor

The Premier has had three weeks to reveal the extent of the payout provided to long-serving Lyons MP, Rene Hidding, who left the Parliament earlier this year.

Mr Hidding resigned from Parliament in February under a cloud of alleged historic child-sex offences, collecting a hefty entitlement on the way out the door.

Shadow Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management Shane Broad said the Minority Liberal Government must reveal the figure paid out to Rene Hidding, who is the last member of the old defined benefit superannuation scheme.

"Three weeks on from the Premier's appearance at Budget Estimates a vital question remains unanswered," Dr Broad said.

"The Premier must to detail the dollar figure handed to the embattled former minister as he walked out the door.

"Will Hodgman could access this information with a call to the head of his Department.

"Tasmanians deserve to know just how much Mr Hidding's payout was worth."
