Ticketless Booking Launches for Group Exercise Classes

Yarra City Council

From Monday 2 February, Yarra Leisure customers will no longer need to collect a paper ticket from reception before attending a group exercise class.

Members and multi visit pass holders with a wristband or fob can tap in through the turnstile, at reception, or the Griffiths Street member's entrance to Richmond Recreation Centre, then directly enter the class.

Causal visitors can check in at reception where their attendance will be recorded by the customer service team.

How does it work?

  • Book into your class through the online client portal or at reception.
  • Scan your wristband or fob at any entry point.
  • Attend the session you booked.
  • When you scan in, your wristband or fob will automatically mark you present for each session you have booked within the next 3 hours.
  • Patrons who attend multiple times per day will still need to scan each time they enter to be marked present.
  • Patrons who do not scan in or attempt to scan in five minutes after the class start time will not be marked as present and may receive a Non‑Attendance email.

If you are still unsure, our friendly customer experience team can assist.

Questions

  • Small Group Training classes
  • Gym Appointments
  • Virtual Group Fitness Classes
  • Move for Life classes
Are wristbands still required?

Wristbands are still required for:

  • Aqua classes
  • Deep Water Running
  • Spa and Sauna access
Does scanning book me into a class?

Scanning does not book you into a class. All class bookings should still be made online or at reception (bookings open 72 hours prior to class start time).

What if I forget my wristband or fob?

Visit reception and our staff will manually check you in.

Do carers or companions need to check in?

Carers and companions should continue to check in with patrons together at reception.

We hope you enjoy this more streamlined approach when attending your group exercise class.
