TODAY: Memorial Day Service to honour lives lost to coal mining

The CFMEU Northern Mining & NSW Energy District will hold its 24thAnnual Memorial Day Service to remember lives lost to coal mining this Sunday.

The Service will be held at the Jim Comerford Memorial Wall, and is held as an acknowledgement to the more than 1,800 men, women and boys who have lost their lives in the Northern District Coalfields.

Sadly one name has been added to the wall since last year. Mineworker Quinton Moore who was tragically killed at the Bengalla Mine near Muswellbrook on 3 November 2018.

Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker the Honourable Anthony Albanese MP, Leader of the Federal Labor Party, will deliver the address.
