Toddlertime will be held every Thursday during school term times at Springwood Library. The first event will be on Thursday 2 February 2023.

Blue Mountains Mayor, Councillor Mark Greenhill expressed his excitement for this new program and the work of the Blue Mountains Library staff.

"The team at the Blue Mountains Library put an extraordinary amount of work into providing quality education opportunities for kids of all ages, and the launch of Toddlertime is a fantastic example of their ingenuity and dedication.

"It has been specifically designed to fill a gap between those little ones who have outgrown Babytime but are not quite ready for Storytime. They've included stories, rhymes and interactions, which is perfect for those active and inquisitive toddlers between the ages of 18 months and 3 years."

Toddlertime is the third program in the young education series run at Blue Mountains Library. It joins Babytime, which introduces rhymes and picture books to children from 0 to around 2 years and is a good social opportunity for parents and carers of new babies, and Storytime, which is for children anywhere from 2 to 5 years and incorporates more detailed stories and a craft activity every week.

All the Library's pre-school programs are designed to be flexible in their age ranges as children learn and interact differently and grapple with the challenges of concentration and sitting still.

"I know many parents worry about bringing their toddlers to events like this because they do like to make noise, explore and move around. The beauty of the Toddlertime program is that it has been created with all of that in mind, and to allow and encourage toddlers to be toddlers," Mayor Greenhill said.

All the kids programs at Blue Mountains Library are delivered by friendly, professional staff who are passionate about helping children learn to love books and literature, encouraging interactions and play with other children, and exploring creativity.

You can find all the details of the new Toddlertime and all kids programs on the Library's website.
