Toowoomba Council Seeks Public Input on Black Gully Park Plans

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is inviting residents to have their say on future improvements to Black Gully Linear Corridor Park in Newtown and Captain Cook Recreation Reserve in Wilsonton.

TRC Environment and Community Portfolio Lead Cr Tim McMahon said Council was planning to introduce features which would encourage people of all ages and abilities to visit and stay longer in these areas.

"New features could include shared pathways for walking and cycling, play equipment, shade for playgrounds, picnic facilities, lighting, car parking, trees and landscaping.

"The community can share ideas by completing a survey on Council's Your Say website, phoning Council or sending written feedback to Council. The consultation closes at 5pm on Friday 8 December 2023," Cr McMahon said.

"Community feedback will be used to guide the development of a draft master plan for the area which will identify future upgrade works.

"The community will have an opportunity to review and comment on the draft master plan from early 2024.

"It is important to note that any future upgrade works will be dependent on funding and Council priorities," Cr McMahon said.
