Tourists Urged to Explore Rottnest Island's Hidden Side

The Cook Government is encouraging tourists to experience the magic of Wadjemup/Rottnest Island this winter.

With the temperature dropping, businesses on the holiday island are ramping up special deals across dining, accommodation and a range of experiences.

It is all part of the 'Wrap Yourself in Wonder' campaign showcasing a different side of Western Australia's famous holiday destination.

Visitors travelling to the island before 31 August can save on accommodation, ferry travel, tours and culinary experiences, including the island's newest accommodation, The Lodge Wadjemup.

The Cook Government is committed to decreasing cost barriers for Western Australians and delivering its economic diversification strategy to support tourism and hospitality businesses on Rottnest Island during the cooler months.

In 2023-24, Rottnest Island welcomed over 823,000 visitors by ferry adding to Western Australia's economy and tourism-filled jobs.

As stated by Tourism Minister Reece Whitby:

"Rottnest Island is one of Western Australia's famous tourist destinations enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of locals, and interstate and international visitors every year.

"The 'Wrap Yourself in Wonder' campaign encourages tourists from around Australia to discover a different side of Rottnest Island, either as a day trip or an overnight stay during the winter months.

"There was record visitation to the holiday island in 2023-24 and we want to continue that momentum over winter.

"Our businesses and tourism operators are offering some great deals, and families should take this opportunity to enjoy one of the State's premier getaways."
