Toyota Launches 60th-Anniversary Corolla Editions

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Corolla series, Toyota has updated the Corolla Active Sport and Corolla Touring Active Sport as 60th-anniversary edition in Japan on May 12. In addition, 60th-anniversary editions of the Corolla Sport and Corolla Cross are scheduled for launch in Japan from mid-year onward.

Toyota also launched minor updates to the Corolla and Corolla Touring, along with a new Corolla-based vehicle for driving schools in Japan.

Since its launch in 1966, the Corolla has continuously evolved to meet the changing times and environments, guided by three key principles: high quality at an affordable price, adaptability, and added value. Consistently fulfilling customer expectations, it is sold in more than 150 countries and regions worldwide, with cumulative global sales exceeding 57 million*1 units. Around the world, it is cherished for supporting customers' lives across borders and generations.

The Corolla has also created jobs through production at 12 business entities across 11 countries and regions worldwide―including in North America, Europe, and Asia―as well as at three plants in Japan: Motomachi, Tsutsumi, and Iwate*2. The Corolla embodies Toyota's aspiration to be the "best-in-town company."

In motorsports, the liquid-hydrogen-powered #32 TGRR GR Corolla H2 concept competed in the Super Taikyu series, expanding future possibilities. At the forefront of making ever-better cars inspired by motorsports, Toyota is honing both the vehicles and the people behind them while continuing to take on the challenge of achieving carbon neutrality alongside our partners.

In addition, the Corolla continues to play a vital role in driver education, serving as a trusted training vehicle for driving schools nationwide. Under Toyota's multipathway approach, the new Corolla-based vehicle for driving schools is available as a hybrid model. This contributes to the realization of a carbon-neutral society while supporting the development of the next generation of drivers through early driving experiences.

Looking ahead, the Corolla will continue to evolve to meet the needs of diversifying lifestyles while cherishing its DNA. Guided by the spirit of "To You," it will continue to support the lives of customers around the world as a car dedicated to happiness and well-being.
