The Northern Territory Police Force has completed a recent traffic operation in Timber Creek.
The operation ran from the 19th to 20th of February, targeting the illegal supply and distribution of alcohol from the NT/WA border along the Victoria and Buntine highways to Top Springs, including remote communities along the route.
Across fourteen Random Breath Testing (RBT) sites and multiple traffic apprehensions, 26 litres of spirits and 20 litres of beer were tipped out after vehicles were intercepted conveying alcohol into alcohol restricted areas.
Four liquor infringements and ten banned drinking orders were handed out, as well as three summary infringements and four defect notices.
Two drivers returned positive readings for alcohol.
One of these drivers recorded a reading of .198% while driving an unregistered/uninsured vehicle and on a learners licence.
The driver is due to appear in Timber Creek Local Court on 15 April 2026 .
The second driver returned a low range result and is due to face Kalkarindi Court on 19 March 2026.
Remote Sergeant Andrew McBride said "NT Police can and will, turn up, anywhere, anytime, on Territory roads.
"Alcohol remains a catalyst for domestic and family violence, as well as a source of both financial and health related harm.
"If you intend on supplying alcohol in restricted areas, you will be caught."
