Pacific Motorway open to traffic

The Pacific Motorway is fully open to traffic. Water has receded at New Italy and a clean up has taken place.

Bruxner Highway

Bruxner Highway from Casino to Lismore open to traffic. Bruxner Highway west Ballina remains closed to traffic. Access to Lismore from the Pacific Highway should continue to use Bangalow Road.

Access to Yamba

Yamba Road has opened to all traffic.

Moss Vale Road has reopened in both directions through the Kangaroo Valley and Cambewarra Mountain following it's closure due to a landslide.

Stop/slow conditions and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h is in place.

Motorists should take extreme care with many roads still affected by flooding:

  • Spring Hill: Spring Hill Road is closed northbound due to flooding.
  • Kiama Heights: One of two northbound lanes on the Princes Highway remain closed due to a landslide on Kiama Bends.
  • Bombo: The Princes Highway northbound on-ramp from Riverside Drive is closed due to flooding.

Motorists are urged to check local council pages and social media sites for updates on other local road closures.

Motorists are also reminded to never drive through floodwater, follow the directions of emergency services and take extreme care as conditions are changing quickly.

Public Transport:

  • On the South Coast Line:
    • Buses are replacing trains between Dapto and Kiama/Bomaderry due to a landslip at Minnamurra.
    • Buses are also replacing trains between Thirroul and Waterfall due to urgent track equipment repairs caused by flooding at Coalcliff.

Access to Lismore and surrounds has changed

To get to Lismore from Queensland, take the Pacific Motorway until the Bangalow Road exit, then follow Bangalow Road.

The route to Lismore from the south is unchanged. Take the Pacific Highway and Big River Way to Grafton, then Summerland Way to Cedar Point, then Bentley Road/Kyogle Road/Casino Street to Lismore.

To get to Casino and Grafton from the north, follow the route to Lismore, then take Casino Street/Kyogle Road/Bentley Road to Cedar Point, then Summerland Way.

To get to Casino and Grafton from the south, take the Pacific Highway and Big River Way to Grafton, then Summerland Way to Casino.

Maclean

Access to Maclean is possible via the Pacific Motorway.

Great Western Highway at Mount Victoria

Great Western Highway at Mount Victoria, east of fairy Bower Rd - single lane closure in place eastbound with stop/slow in place westbound

Flood Watch for NSW Coastal Rivers from the Manning to the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley

From Sunday into Monday and Tuesday heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast across parts of the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley extending into the Hunter, Paterson, Williams, Gloucester, and Manning Rivers. This rainfall has the potential to cause renewed river level rises to areas already impacted by flooding. Moderate to Major flooding is possible.
