TRC seeking interest from CBD businesses in guaranteed parking

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has advertised tenders for businesses wishing to lease parking in the CBD.

TRC Infrastructure Services general manager Mike Brady said tenders have been called in response to requests from businesses and inner-city workers for guaranteed, long-term parking for their staff.

"We're calling for tender submissions to assess interest in guaranteed parking spaces in the Toowoomba Bus Station," Mr Brady said.

"The Toowoomba Bus Station is a two-level car park located on the corner of Neil Street and the Bell Street Mall in the CBD.

"The facility has about 300 parking spaces and is fitted with security cameras and a lift.

"The first floor would continue to be available for public use, with part or all of the top floor being leased depending on interest received through the tender process.

"Parking spaces would be accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week in a partitioned area on the top floor of the facility.

"The agreement would be for a period of up to 24 months.

"Those interested in the offer should visit Council's tender site and download and complete the Request for Offer and Specification Document which outlines all requirements for the tender."

Businesses have until 2 pm on Tuesday 5 May 2020 to respond to the tender.

Council reserves the right to accept none, some, any or all of the offers received based on best price offered.

Council is also seeking community feedback on providing guaranteed parking at the Toowoomba Bus Station.

Residents can have their say via Council's Your Say website or by completing a hard copy survey which is available from customer service centres.
