Truck Driver Charged for Blue Mountains Reckless Driving

A truck driver has been charged after allegedly driving dangerously in Sydney's Blue Mountains earlier this month.

On Thursday 19 March 2026, officers attached to the Blue Mountains Traffic and Highway Patrol Command commenced investigations following reports of a tabletop truck driving in a dangerous manner on the Darling Causeway, Bell.

Police will allege the truck crossed double unbroken lane lines on a blind crest and overtook three cars and a heavy vehicle.

Following investigations, police spoke to the 56-year-old driver in Penrith, where he was issued a Court Attendance Notice.

He was charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner, drive behind other vehicle too closely to stop safely dangerous, not keep left of dividing line-class B/C vehicle and use/allow use of horn/similar warning device unnecessarily. His licence was also suspended.

The man is set to appear before Katoomba Local Court on Monday 20 April 2026.
