Truck Driver Faces Charges in Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash at Mangrove Mountain

A truck driver has been charged after a woman died in a two-vehicle crash on the Central Coast yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Wisemans Ferry Road, Mangrove Mountain, about 3.20pm (Friday 19 January 2024), following reports a truck and car had collided.

A 57-year-old woman driving a Landcruiser died at the scene.

The driver of a prime mover – a 69-year-old man – was not injured and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established as specialist officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Following inquiries, the driver of the truck was arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death – drive manner dangerous, and negligent driving (occasioning death).

He was given conditional bail to appear before Gosford Local Court on Wednesday 7 February 2024.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
