Tugun | Pacific Motorway M1 | Revised access conditions for oversize overmass vehicles

National Road Transport Association

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) are pleased to advise that the longstanding oversize and overmass conditions for the Tugun Bypass has been removed for the Queensland section of the Pacific Motorway, M1.

A 4.6 metre height restriction remains in place due to infrastructure clearance heights. The alternative route for vehicles over 4.6 metres in height is via the Gold Coast Highway, Tugun.

For up to date conditions and restrictions for Oversize and Overmass vehicles operating in Queensland, please refer to the Conditions of Operations Database.

TMR would like to thank Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) for their assistance in the removal of this condition. Please refer to TfNSW website to access the NSW Oversize Overmass Load Carrying Vehicles Network map for details of the approved roads as well as restricted structures in NSW.

We are continuously monitoring, assessing and reviewing our roads, bridges and culverts across Queensland. Conditions can change quickly, particularly due to weather. Restrictions are implemented to maintain ongoing safety for all road users.

It is your responsibility to make sure you're using up-to-date information when you assess the suitability of your route.

You must check the Conditions of Operation Database before you start your journey.
