Two arrested and drugs seized in Stawell

Police have arrested two people and seized a large amount of drugs following a search warrant in Stawell on Friday.

Detectives from the Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit attended a Fisher Street address about 9.45am on 23 October.

Officers arrested a man and woman and subsequently searched the house, seizing a large amount of what is alleged to be heroin, methylamphetamine and cocaine.

A 73-year-old man has since been charged with traffick methylamphetamine, possess methylamphetamine, traffick heroin, possess heroin, traffick cocaine, possess cocaine and possess proceeds of crime.

The Stawell man was remanded to appear before Stawell Magistrates' Court on 20 January 2021.

A 23-year-old woman was charged with traffick methylamphetamine, possess methylamphetamine, traffick heroin, possess heroin, traffick cocaine, possess cocaine and possess proceeds of crime.

The woman, also from Stawell, was bailed to appear before Stawell Magistrates' Court on 5 January 2021.
