Two Arrested, Fake Gun Seized in Wantirna Car Crash

Two men have been arrested after reports of a firearm being spotted and a stolen vehicle crashing into three parked cars in Wantirna South this afternoon.

It is alleged a firearm was pointed from a stolen white Holden Astra towards a driver on the Burwood Highway about 3.40pm.

The Astra was seen allegedly swerving from lane to lane and pulling into a nearby shopping centre carpark on Stud Road.

Knox police arrived swiftly after receiving the report.

The allegedly stolen Holden crashed into three stationary vehicles in the carpark.

It is alleged the two male occupants dumped the Holden and fled on foot.

Officers quickly moved in, arrested two men and seized an imitation firearm.

No one was injured.

A 35-year-old man and a 28-year-old man will be interviewed by police.

The investigation remains ongoing.
