Two charged after Blue Mountains bicycle theft, NSW

Two men have been charged after a break-in at a Blue Mountains bicycle store yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 2.45am yesterday, a Ford utility was used to force entry to the Springwood store. Two bicycles, with a total value of $7500, were stolen.

Inquiries lead police from Blue Mountains Local Area Command to an address in Doonside.

A utility matching the description of the vehicle used in the earlier incident was seized and will be forensically examined.

Police also located and seized two bicycles, a cross bow, cross bow bolts, and a pair of handcuffs.

Two Doonside men, aged 43 and 36, were arrested at the home and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

The 36-year-old man was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (x3), and driver not disclose identity of driver/passenger’s identity.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday 19 September 2017.

The 43-year-old man was charged aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal, passenger not disclose driver's/other passenger’s identity, and face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.

He was refused rail to appear at Blacktown Local Court today.
