Two charged after pursuit, NSW

Two young people have been charged after a pursuit with a stolen car in the Inner West.

On the afternoon of Wednesday 23 January 2019, a silver Lexus sedan was stolen from a residential premise on Paramatta Road Stanmore.

About 1pm yesterday (Friday 25 January 2019) officers from Inner West Police Area Command attempted to stop the vehicle on Illawarra Road, Marrickville.

The pursuit was terminated by police on two occasions, before the vehicle crashed into a phone box on Railway Terrace, Lewisham.

The three occupants ran from the vehicle.

Police established a perimeter and a short time later three juveniles were arrested and were taken to Newtown Police Station.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with Skye's Law, police pursuit not stop, take and drive conveyance without consent, drive manner dangerous and drive never licenced. He was refused bail to appear at a court today (Saturday 26 January 2019).

A 15-year-old girl charged with being carried in conveyance taken without consent. She was granted bail to appear at a court on Monday11 February 2019.

A 17-year-old boy was issued a caution.
