Two Charged in Lidcombe Armed Robbery

Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged two men over an alleged armed robbery in Lidcombe earlier this month.

Just after 1pm on Monday 6 October 2025, police were called to a licenced premises on Joseph Street in Lidcombe, following reports of an armed robbery.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were told two men – one armed with a firearm – entered the premises and threatened staff and customers before they stole an amount of cash and left the scene in a white Toyota hatchback.

There were no reports of injuries.

A crime scene was established and officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command commenced initial inquiries, before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Patcardi.

About 6pm yesterday (Tuesday 28 October 2025), strike force detectives – with assistance from PolAir and the Tactical Opereations Unit – approached a stationary vehicle in Lakemba.

During a search of the car, police located and seized a knife.

The driver of the car – a 40-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Campsie Police Station where he was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence, acquire etc prohibited firearm-subject prohibition order, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm.

He was also charged with conspiracy to commit an unspecified offence, based on evidence uncovered by detectives of another robbery conspiracy.

The man was refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today (Wednesday 29 October 2025).

About 6:15pm the same day, police arrested a 41-year-old at an address in Auburn.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station, where he was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, fail to comply digital evidence access order direction and conspiracy to commit an unspecified offence.

The man was refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court today.
