Two children killed after being struck by a vehicle near Dubbo

Two children have died, and a further three pedestrians have been injured after being struck by a vehicle in the state's Central West this afternoon.

About 4.30pm (Tuesday 5 January 2021), emergency services were called to Warne Street, Wellington, south of Dubbo, following reports five pedestrians had been struck by a car.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated an adult and four children at the scene, however, two of the children later died.

The adult and two other children are being transferred to hospital – one in a serious condition.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit, who are en-route.

Police have been told the driver of the vehicle left the scene prior to their arrival.
