Detectives have charged two employees of a licenced premises in Sydney's west following an investigation into an armed robbery earlier this month.
About 4.30am on Friday 2 April 2021, emergency services were called to a licenced premise on Mulgoa Road at Wallacia, following reports of an armed robbery.
Police were told a man – armed with a firearm – entered the hotel and threatened staff, before stealing cash and a white Holden Commodore that had been parked outside.
The man then left the area in the stolen sedan and was last seen travelling south on Mulgoa Road.
Initial inquiries were conducted by officers from Nepean Police Area Command, before detectives from the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took carriage of the incident under Strike Force Decora.
Following extensive investigations, Strike Force Decora detectives arrested a 42-year-old man at Gregory Hills about 2.30pm on Thursday 15 April 2021.
The man was charged and remains before the courts.
As part of ongoing inquiries, police received information which alleged two employees had stolen cash from the premises during the incident.
About 1.20pm on Thursday (22 April 2021), a 31-year-old man attended Penrith Police Station where he was arrested and charged with steal property as clerk/servant (more than $5,000 and less than $15,000).
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Penrith Local Court on Monday 17 May 2021.
About 11.15am today (Friday 23 April 2021), a 34-year-old man attended Blacktown Police Station where he was arrested and charged with steal property as clerk/servant (more than $5,000 and less than $15,000).
The man was also granted strict conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday 28 May 2021.
