Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash in Sydney’s west overnight which resulted in two men being taken to hospital, NSW Police say.
About 12.45am (Saturday 17 November 2018), a Hyundai Tucson was travelling east on Lane Street, Wentworthville, when it left the road and struck a telegraph pole.
The impact caused severe damage to the vehicle and caused the overhead wires to fall down onto the roadway.
The passenger, a 26-year-old man, suffered a suspected leg fracture and was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment.
The driver, a 29-year-old man, was taken to Westmead Hospital suffering shock.
A roadside breath-test was conducted on the driver, which returned a positive result. A blood sample was taken at hospital, and police will await the results.
