Two men arrested following attempt to ram police car in Dandenong

Two men have been arrested after allegedly trying to ram a police vehicle in a stolen car at Dandenong overnight., Victoria Police say

It’s alleged police noticed a stolen vehicle being driven on the Monash Freeway before losing sight of it about 12.05am.

A patrolling unit then noticed the car outside a Princes Highway business, at the intersection of Gladstone Road, where it allegedly tried to ram the police vehicle.

The officers managed to avoid the collision and the car drove off.

Police were able to track the car through several suburbs to Cranbourne where, with the assistance of the Dog Squad, two men were arrested in the rear yard of a Sladen Street property.

A 27-year-old Keysborough man was taken to hospital after being bitten by a police dog, where he remains under police guard.

A 34-year-old Dandenong man was treated at the scene by paramedics after also being bitten by a police dog.

He will appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court today charged with theft of motor vehicle, evade police, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, handle stolen goods and possess goods suspected to be proceeds of crime.
