Two men charged; cash, weapons and drugs seized - Strike Force Alverton

Two further men have been charged as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged activities of an organised criminal syndicate, including illicit drug supply.

In November 2019, Strike Force Alverton was established as a joint investigation by the State Crime Command's Organised Crime Squad, the NSW Crime Commission (NSWCC) and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) into the supply of prohibited drugs.

As result of investigations, three men – aged 35, 29 and 23 – were charged. They remain before the courts.

Subsequent search warrants executed at properties in the Blue Mountains, Cabramatta, Canley Vale and Guildford resulted in the additional seizures of $247,000 cash, cocaine, cannabis, prescription drugs, hard drives, a CCTV recording device, and mobile phones.

Following further inquiries, investigators arrested a 22-year-old man at Arncliffe about 7am yesterday (Wednesday 29 July 2020).

A short time later, a search warrant was executed at a home at Bexley, where police seized $26,000 cash, an electronic stun device, two sets of 'knuckle dusters' and prohibited drugs.

About 8am, detectives attended a unit at Campsie and arrested a 23-year-old man, who was taken to Campsie Police Station.
