Two men and two teenage boys have been charged following an alleged carjacking in Sydney's south west yesterday.
About 3pm (Tuesday 15 September 2026), police were called to Governor Macquarie Drive, Chipping Norton, following reports a man had allegedly been assaulted and a truck he was driving was stolen.
Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command and Fairfield City Police Area Command responded and sighted the truck at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Cabramatta Road, Cabramatta.
On seeing police, two men allegedly ran from the truck and entered a grey utility which continued to drive north on the Hume Highway.
The utility was stopped a short time later by police on the Hume Highway, Cabramatta near Longfield Street and two 17-year-old boys and two 18-year-old men were arrested.
The truck and the utility were seized by police and will undergo a forensic examination.
The original driver of the truck – a 31-year-old man – suffered minor injuries as a result of the alleged assault.
The two men and two teenage boys were taken to Cabramatta Police Station and charged with robbery in company.
The 18-year-old men were refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court today (Wednesday 16 September 2026).
The 17-year-old boys were refused bail to appear before a Children's Court today, where they were granted conditional bail to appear before a Campbelltown Children's Court on Monday 26 October 2026.
