Two new EV charging stations for Swan Hill

Swan Hill Rural City Council is pleased to partner with 11 other councils and the Victorian Government to roll out a public network of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

The Victorian Government is investing $664,000 to build charging stations, which will better link towns across Victoria and will encourage more visitors to the region.

Swan Hill Rural City Council Director Development and Planning, Heather Green said new infrastructure will increase regional connectivity and ensure our region is an attractive place to visit.

"The new stations are expected to boost tourism, create jobs and reduce emissions.

"We expect they will assist in pumping extra dollars back into our economy," she said.

Ms Green said the charging stations would be installed in both Swan Hill and Robinvale.

"We have worked in partnership with Central Greenhouse Alliance to identify two priority locations for the new charging stations.

"The charging stations will be located in the Curlewis Street carpark in Swan Hill and George Street Robinvale - both easily accessible and central locations," Ms Green said.

The Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance has released an open tender that will close on the Tuesday, 6 October 2020 for the supply, installation and maintenance of the charging network.
