Two-vehicle crash near Tamworth

A man has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash south of Tamworth this morning.

About 6.20am (Thursday 3 February 2022), emergency services were called to Werris Creek Road, near Woodlands Road at Duri – about 22km south of Tamworth – following reports a car and truck had collided.

The male driver of the car was trapped in the vehicle for a short period of time, before being freed by emergency service crews.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Tamworth Hospital in a serious condition.

The male driver of the truck was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and established a crime scene.
