2025/26 U19 Male Emerging Metro and Country Squads Named

Cricket Victoria is excited to announce its 2025/26 U19 Male Emerging Metro and Country squads.

Commencing on June 29, the program closely mirrors key aspects of the senior Victorian program while also including expanded playing opportunities across different formats throughout the season.

Players have been selected based on their efforts across both, senior and U18 Premier competitions, as well as their performances during last year's Cricket Australia National Championships.

Victorian rookie contracted player, Oliver Peake (Geelong), has been selected in the Victorian Country squad, while Alex Turner (Prahran) and Aryan Sharma (Carlton) have been named in the Victorian Metro squad after returning from Cricket Australia's recent U19 camp in India.

It promises to be an exciting summer ahead with the U19 National Championships taking place from the 30th of November to the 9th of December, before the ICC U19 World Cup gets underway in January.

Victoria's squads will be mentored by former first-class player and experienced Dandenong and Geelong Premier Coach, Nick Speak, former Ryder Medallist and CV Talent Specialist, James Miller, and former Victorian players Travis Dean and Jon Holland.

Cricket Victoria Male Talent Development Manager, Tom Evans, said both squads were looking forward for the opportunities ahead.

"We're excited by the depth of both our squads, which is a testament to the strength of our community clubs, its coaches and the pathways that are in place which have helped nurture and grow the next generation of Victorian cricketers."

"We look forward to continuing developing them as cricketers and people and giving them that top-level experience playing in a variety of formats during such an important year with the National Championships and the U19's World Cup."
