GENEVA - The Special Rapporteur on minority issues, Nicolas Levrat, will conduct an official visit to the European Union from 19 to 28 January 2026.
During his visit, Levrat will examine the European Union's social and inclusion policies, minorities' representation within the EU, policy measures addressing hate speech, and the use of minority languages, among other issues.
The Special Rapporteur will meet with representatives of EU institutions, civil society organisations, academic institutions, and other actors. He will begin his visit in Brussels and will travel across the European Union, including to Luxembourg City, Vienna, and Budapest. The visit is taking place at the invitation of the European Union.
The expert will hold a press conference on 28 January at 11:30 local time in the Passage Room at the Residence Palace in Brussels. Access will be strictly limited to journalists. To register, please fill in the registration form
