GENEVA - The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, Tom Andrews, will conduct a country visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from 8 to 11 December 2025.
The Special Rapporteur does not have access to Myanmar and therefore undertakes visits to other countries to engage stakeholders and advocate for stronger international action.
During his visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Andrews will discuss the Government's perspective on the ongoing crisis in Myanmar and explore ways the UK can champion the human rights of the people of Myanmar and help make the invisible crisis visible again.
Andrews will meet with representatives of the Government, members of the Parliament, and hold discussions with academics, students, civil society organisations, and members of the Myanmar diaspora.
