Under Milky Way Tonight at Glen Street Theatre

Northern Beaches

Karen Knowles' Under the Milky Way Tonight is a stunning performance, coming to Glen Street Theatre in Belrose on March 11. The show was created by Karen to honour the love, light and heartfelt contribution Archie Roach, Judith Durham and Olivia Newton-John made to the fabric of Australia's musical soul and identity.

Karen has a strong affinity with all three artists. She grew up singing Olivia's music on Young Talent Time and sang The Seekers repertoire extensively when touring with The Seekers as their lead singer in the early 1990s. Through Karen's work with reconciliation since the 1990s she encountered and was touched by Archie Roach's musical expression of connection to country. Karen says the show was;

"…born out of a deep shock and pain of losing all three artists within ten days of one another…a will from me was triggered to create an honouring for the incredible gifts and values these artists held for Australia and for the Earth itself."

Under the Milky Way Tonight offers Australian audiences an opportunity to be with each other to collectively honour and celebrate the contribution of these incredible singers who have formed a large part of the soundtrack of our lives.

Audiences will join Karen to uphold what Archie, Judith and Olivia all stood and sang for - unity, healing, connection and belonging. This will be a concert to remember.
