Frank Willard, Ph.D., professor of anatomy in the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, recently delivered the keynote lecture at the 2020 Fascia Research Online Summit to a crowd of more than 800 virtual participants.
The two-day virtual summit was organized by the Fascia Research Society (FRS) and was presented to an international audience of osteopathic physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and health professionals from various other disciplines.
Willard's presentation, "Embryological development of visceral and pharyngeal fasciae," was given during the summit's first day of activities on Wednesday, May 20.
The FRS encourages and supports the dialogue and collaboration between clinicians, researchers, and academicians to further understanding of fasciae, which are bands of connective tissue beneath the skin that attach, stabilize, enclose, and separate muscles and other internal organs.
