Unhappy New Year

The saying "New Year, new me" quickly fell by the wayside for an offender in Ballarat who decided to get the New Year off to a flyer by committing a burglary seconds into the new decade.

Investigators have been told a man attended a business on Humffray Street just after midnight on 1 January.

The man managed to force open a door, entered the building and searched the premises.

He attended an office area and stole a number of Christmas gifts and alcohol before leaving the premises.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
