University of Helsinki Board Named for 2026-2029 Term

University of Helsinki

The Board of the University of Helsinki consists of ten members, of whom six represent the University community and four are appointed from outside the community.

In the election held from 25 to 27 November 2025, the staff of the University of Helsinki elected representatives of professors and mid-tier group (consisting of other teaching and research staff and other staff) to the Board of the University for the term from 1  January 2026 to 31 December 2029.

Both the professor and mid-tier groups have two representatives on the Board. In total, the Board of the University of Helsinki of ten members, of whom six represent the University community and four are appointed from outside the community.

In addition, the Student Union of the University of Helsinki has appointed two student members to the Board for a two-year term from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027.

The Board elects a chair and a deputy chair from among its external members. The University Collegium will confirm the election of members representing the University community at its meeting to be held on 2 December 2025.
