Tackling a demanding 8.4-kilometre course in high summer temperatures of over 30 degrees: that was the challenge at the WVV Company Run in the evening of 18 June 2026.

With more than 150 runners, the University of Würzburg had its strongest ever representation. For the first time, students joined staff on the starting line for the university team - and immediately provided some sporting highlights.

Top placings in the individual rankings

Two students were particularly successful: Richard Assenbaum completed the course in 29:36 minutes, securing second place in the men's category. Lara Fritz finished third in the women's category with a time of 34:30 minutes.

First place in the team classification

There was also cause for celebration in the team classification: JMU secured first place - the result was determined by the five fastest runners from each organisation. The university's top five were Richard Assenbaum, Lara Fritz, Sven Kachur, Lukas Weise and Christoph Wunder.

Closing ceremony at the Dallenbergbad

Alongside the sporting challenge, the focus was on the shared experience. Numerous spectators lined the route to cheer on the participants. To round off the event, music, food and drinks were provided for them at the Dallenbergbad.
