Unlawful assault at shopping centre in Doncaster

Police are hoping to identify a man following an unlawful assault at a shopping centre in Doncaster last month.

Investigators believe the unknown man entered a Doncaster Road complex about 10.30am on Wednesday, 22 July.

The man approached a woman, who was taking out rubbish during her working shift, and spat on her face.

He then left the shopping centre on foot and walked towards the bus stops on Williamsons Road.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged 40 to 50-years, and has a bald head.

He was wearing a black coat, a dark-coloured shirt, dark jeans and black sunglasses at the time.

Police are investigating whether the same man was involved in a similar incident at a Malvern East shopping centre on 20 March.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises the man or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
