Unlawful Use And Dangerous Driving Offences At Ormeau

Police have charged two people after tracking an alleged stolen vehicle from Logan Central to Pimpama last night, July 3.

It will be alleged that a white Mazda 3 was stolen from an Eastern Road carpark at Browns Plains between 7pm and 8pm last night.

Just before 9pm, police spotted the Mazda driving along Wembley Road at Logan Central, where it was then tracked by Polair for a period of time before allegedly driving dangerously southbound along the Pacific Motorway before exiting at Yatala.

The car then continued for some time before the successful deployment of a tyre deflation device at Pimpama just before 10pm.

The vehicle came to a stop a short distance away at Mirambeena Drive at Ormeau with the two occupants fleeing the area on foot.

Officers, assisted by the Dog Squad and Polair, took the alleged driver, a 14-year-old Logan Central boy and an 18-year-old Alberton man, into custody a short time later.

A 14-year-old Logan Central boy has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle and driving unlicensed.

He is expected to appear before Southport Children's Court today, July 4.

An 18-year-old Alberton man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on July 17.
