Detectives have charged a man with robbery and multiple traffic offences in relation to two alleged stolen vehicle incidents in south east Queensland overnight, January 20.
An allegedly stolen motorcycle was observed by police on Kingston Road at Springwood at 6.50pm on Saturday.
Polair monitored the motorcycle as it headed north on the Gateway Motorway across the river to Nudgee Road before returning to the Gateway Motorway and heading south.
The motorcycle travelled for approximately three hours through Logan, Eight Mile Plains, Sunnybank and Acacia Ridge and then to Crompton Road at Woodridge where then man got off the motorcycle.
It will be further alleged at 10.30pm, two people were in their parked vehicle on Crompton Road when they were approached by the man who allegedly threatened them with a knife and demanded their car.
Polair continued monitoring the man as he allegedly drove the vehicle to the Pacific Motorway before travelling north on the Gateway Motorway and on to the Bruce Highway.
At 11.18pm, police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device near the Old Gympie Road exit in Narangba with all four tyres deflated. The vehicle stopped on Old Gympie Road a short time later and the man was arrested.
The 30-year-old Eagleby man has been charged with armed unlawful entry of a vehicle, three counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous driving, stealing and driving whilst disqualified.
He was also charged with assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence offence) regarding an unrelated matter.
He is expected to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court tomorrow, January 22.
The motorcycle was reported stolen from a Kingston property on December 23.
