Unlicensed driver charged after caught in unregistered vehicle - Blackett

An unlicensed driver has been arrested after being caught driving through Sydney's west yesterday.

Officers attached to Strike Force Puma were patrolling Blackett when they recognised a vehicle being driven along Webb Place about 2:30pm (Sunday 25 October 2020).

Police checks revealed the driver, a 32-year-old woman, was driving while unlicensed.

Further checks revealed the Commodore sedan was unregistered and uninsured as well as having a major defect notice.

An 11-year-old boy was a passenger in the car at the time.

The woman was arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Police station where she was charged with drive whilst disqualified, use unregistered motor vehicle, use uninsured motor vehicle, and use vehicle in contravention of major defect notice.

The woman, from Blackett, has been granted strict conditional bail to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday 4 November 2020.

The sedan's registration plates were seized.
