The 15-member Security Council will meet this afternoon, at the request of the delegation of Ukraine in a 17 June letter, following large-scale Russian aerial attacks on Kyiv and other cities across Ukraine on that day.
Miroslav Jenča, Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and Americas in the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations, and Edem Wosornu, Director of Operations and Advocacy at the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, will brief.
Ukraine, Lithuania, Germany, Norway and Italy will participate under Rule 37 of the Council's provisional rules of procedures.
